Janelle Williams was born and raised in New York City. She is a graduate of Spelman College, where she was an Ethel Waddell Githii Honors student, and Howard University School of Law, where she was a Merit Scholar and the recipient of the L. Douglas Wilder Academic Achievement Award. She has received training at both the Justice Center of Atlanta and Henning Mediation & Arbitration Service and has been registered with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution as a general civil mediator, a domestic relations mediator and an arbitrator. Janelle Williams was a member of the Inaugural Class of The Honors Program of the Georgia Public Defenders Standards Council and went on to become a Training Attorney for the Georgia Public Defenders Standards Council, where she was charged with familiarizing inexperienced attorneys with the ins and outs of the criminal justice system, trial skills and case negotiations. She has also served as a Faculty Member for Gideon’s Promise, a nationwide training institute for lawyers committed to zealously defending the majority of criminal defendants with excellence. Janelle Williams was selected to serve as a Board Member for the Georgia Association of Counsel for Children and she was a member of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers’ Leadership Academy Class of 2016. She is licensed to practice law in all Superior Courts in Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Northern District of Georgia, United States District Court. Janelle Williams is a true litigation attorney having tried hundreds of cases successfully in her over a decade in the courtroom and negotiated even more cases to successful outcomes for her clients.
